Thought I’d share this - a full video of a cabride in one of the most beautiful areas of Canada. Please enjoy!

3 hours & 46 minutes
Hours of boredom, punctuated by moments of terror.[;)]
Never ridden the cab before I take it. Now you know why fatigue is a factor, why there is risk and danger in the job and the industry, why they have to memorize hundreds of pages of rules and regulations and rememorize each time there is a change and be tested often as well, and why they get paid as well as they do,
Norm, while I’m with you on the boredom of 10MPH track, where on earth did you find terror?!
I downloaded the file from YouTube using You Tube Downloader Pro and keep getting an error message when I try to record it to a DVD using Corel Video Studio Pro that there is a glitch in the file at the very beginning.
I got far enough through the video to get out of the departure yard, but then my computer got bored with it and quit.
A truly epic and wonderful video. Five stars and two thumbs up. Thank you for posting it.
For those of you who remember his posts, forum member Kootenay Central would have known this trip like he knew how to breathe. From the days of steam engines with no dynamic brakes and consists made up of cars with both “K” and “AB” brakes, through to Fairbanks Morse opposed piston diesels, to SD40-2’s. You can see why on a nice day when it was too hot to be in the cab riding along on the roof of a car enjoying the scenery would be a great way to earn a living.
Did it seem to anybody else that as we were going through Thrums and Glade we were almost going too fast to appreciate the scenery? It took a while to get used to the extra speed (20-25 mph).
For those of you who might have forgotten, the Boundary Sub. portion of the trip is on a remnant of Canadian Pacific’s Southern Transcontinental line through British Columbia. Including at one time, daily passenger train service between Medicine Hat, AB and Vancouver.
A beautiful and strangely hypnotic example of the wonder of moving picture technology.

Totally agree with everything Bruce (Agent Kid) said !
The scenery is tremendous and a cab ride in that country is a real winner.
It would be a real treat if we had some of Ko
The area has changed a lot indeed, and I’ve been very glad to have him on the forum (as much as he ever is)! Perhaps he will weigh in someday.
