Episode 31: The Perks of Product Placement

I agree with William Schmeelk of N.J. Keep’em coming Bob. We always enjoy your whit along with the reports. I will be getting Roger Carps new book as a Christmas present this year.

Bob you got to try the Hallmark ornaments on the tree. I had one in the train room, all Hallmark on the tree. Yes they are a little heavy just use a good hook.

Bob, I like your info in “Train Box” it gives me things to think about and in some cases act upon. What I would like to see, is more action with the new items on the track. Keep on chugging.

I purchased “LIONEL NATION” at York and totally enjoyed it. In fact the next time I go to Chicago, I will have to visit the Choo Choo Dinner in DesPlaines. I think the entire video is great

Outstanding!! Very informative and entertaining!! Look forward to additional segments.

From Train Box 1 to Train Box 31 . . . always informative, always enjoyable. I’d be happy to join you as your assistant as you travel around the world searching for toy trains.

CTT, Thanks for sending me the link to this very entertaining and informative show! Bob, you do a great job presenting the different products in a conversational style that makes the viewer feel as if they are right there in the office with you talking trains.
Let management know that I vote for you to take the show to Brasil, Hawaii and other underserved train markets!
Keep 'em coming!

Bob:

I enjoy your videos each month and this was no exception. I liked your review on the Genset.

Bob, how 'bout “Train Box Roadshow” – or is that too close to copyright infringement ? But until Hormel or Snyder’s decides to become a sponsor, maybe U could have loyal readers send U on-line images or a brief video of what they have that they are wondering about. U could have submission categories for ‘Marx’, ‘Post War’, ‘Tinplate’, ‘American Flyer’, ‘Accessories’, ‘6464-’, ‘Bridges’, ‘I don’t know what this is but …’, ‘Used to run - really!’, and then if/when U find something interesting, U could reply in Ur BTB ep ?

Interesting that you do not print comments that are the slightest bit negative even if they do comply with the ‘ground rules’. One can certainly be respectful and not always give Bob glowing feedback. Maybe you are not really interested in truthful feedback.

Hi Bob
I still have a problem trying to see your presentation. The back lighting is washing out the items you have for viewing as well as your face.It would seem the camera picks up the background and adjusts to brightness, which in turn kills the forefront.Otherwise its a very good feature that is looked forward to each month

Actually, unless they contain the above mentioned offensive language or personal attacks, we print all of the comments we receive on a Bob’s Train Box episode. Since it’s a lighthearted look at new products in an entertaining format, people enjoy it for what it is.

Very enjoyable Bob, very funny! Keep up the good work! By the way, if you’re having fun doing it, is it really “work”?

Great work on the video’s Bob keep up the good work. I would like to see some tips and how to’s in your show something like Cody’s office but having it done in O Gauge so we can see it in our gauge and not the small gauges

Great job Bob, always like seeing people who enjoy their hobby (work)

Excellent - lots of neat new stuff and good fun

Hey Bob, you keep making a good idea better with your videos. I was downtown in L.A. the other day, and heard a rumbling noise. When I turned I was able to see a real UP Genset switching cars. It’s not nearly as noisy as the old SW’s, and I was surprised to see how closely Lionel had captured the real thing. When I got over to the Train Shack in Burbank (product placement), they kindly demonstrated the Lionel version for me. The exhaust stacks turn off and on to replicate the energy saving qualities of the real one, and the sounds are unbelievably authentic. Finally there’s a Lionel product that reflects reality.
