Erie RR varnish

The Kent (Ohio) Historical Society is publishing a short book on the Erie Railroad, and we find ourselves in need of photographs of the interiors of Erie passenger equipment. We only need 2 or 3 pictures, but a shot of a dining car, a sleeper, a coach, etc, would be deeply appreciated. Photos from any era would be welcome. Lastly, a really fine photo of The Erie Limited or The Lake Cities, for example, would be the icing on the cake. Can anyone here furnish a few photos?

And a special call to the Master of All Railroad Photographs (lol), wanswheel: Do you have anything we could use?

Thanks very much.

wanswheel:

I am certainly in your debt. I am continually amazed at what you can turn up and how unique it is. Heartfelt thanks!

If you can obtain a copy of the National Railway Historical Society’s “Bulletin” vol.59, number 5, 1994 you will,

find an absolutely lovely article with color photos on the “Erie Limited”. The article was written by Brian J.

Cudahy who rode the train often to and from school in the late '50s.
