Does anyone know if these kits still exsist? I re-geared an Atheran Baldwin S-12 years ago and was really pleased with the results. I am a DC guy, and would like to do some more work on several locos (Atheran) that I have. Thanks.
I am hearing rumors they are out of business but I ordered a 4 wheel regear thru walthers and got one. dunno.
Ernst is still around, but the selection of kits is quite small. Walthers stocks the 4 axle and 6 axle kits for the basic BB wide body engines(F7/switchers/GP’s/SD’s) amd a special set for the SD40-2 engines. They are based in Oregon and also make those plastic socket set organizers(I suspect that is their main business). I have not seen the RDC or Hustler regear kits for some time.
