Over the past month or so - at times - I am getting locked up when in any of the Trains Forum headings -
I do not get this kind of error situation with any of the other web sites/forums I interact with.

I am using Chrome on a Windows 10 desktop.
I just get a periodic blank page when I try using ‘refresh’ in the browser (Safari on an iPhone). Sometimes it has the pale ‘working’ dots, usually not. I just close the page and open a new one.
I occasionally get the same thing, on Chrome and Windows 11. I like to think maybe they are doing some updates to the site? I go on to other things and soon the Trains site is back in business.
I get that too; I do the same thing. It certainly isn’t browser specific or OS specific–I’m using Windows 11 and Firefox, but it does the same thing with DuckDuckGo, and even that most awful of browsers, Edge!
Android Huawei phone using Chrome. Works ok.
I see you’re not using an ad-blocker. Those errors usually come from scripts in the ad server system that is slowing down the browser.
Au contraire
U block is active
Shut it down, drop the breakers, pull the knife switch, wait a minute and try restarting.
(That has to work for something).
Unless you have a computer capable of running Windows 11, you lack the hardware security infrastructure to work with Firecrown’s advanced new forum-software security…

Everything I have heard is that W11 has yet to achieve the stability of W10.
I got sucked in on Vista and later W8.1 - not this time.
So why is there an Xfinity ad in your screenshot?
I think he’s got you there! ![]()
For some reason the ‘bottom feeder’ ads from Firecrown forumware sneak in. Another forum I frequent also has ‘bottomfeeder’ ads that U Connect doesn’t block.
There is a continuing war between the advertising apps and the Ad Blocker apps. - Offense v Defense.
What is getting totally out of hand is the ads YouTube is putting in videos - every two or three minutes when you aren’t paying them $13.99 a month.
Have you disabled your adblocker to see if the error goes away? I use U Block origin and have no issues with ads, here or on YouTube.
I agree; the only reason that I have it is because my old computer was dying.
I came close last month - my W10 lap top had a fan failure and would overheat and shut down. The local tech’s I deal with was able to get the right replacement part and it is still doing what it is supposed to - so I will keep it. I have a small network, my original Windows XP box, my Vista laptop, my now W10 Desktop that started life with W8.1 and the previously mentioned W10 laptop. All work and communicated with each other over my local network.
Yeah, I think that the fan in mine was failing too–amongst other things. I do have a Windows 7 computer to store diagrams over in the train room…
I’ve got Firefox configured to block pop-ups and third party re-directs along with https-only mode. That combination blocks almost all ads without a dedicated ad-blocker. Some websites have site hosted ads that don’t get blocked - these are usually set up so they don’t block content, and I don’t mind them showing up.
Great work. My son gets so upset when I try to fix things. Just buy a new one. Not me.
BTW Interesting to see different languages as one looks at thread comments. Latin/German/new one Czechoslovakian
