I’ve installed ESU decoders/sound in two Atlas RS1s. The “reverser” sound is annoyingly loud. Is there a way to decrease/shut off this function/sound? Thanks!
The best method: Download the most recent LokProgrammer software, find the exact decoder model, then find the appropriate CV for that feature.
You can then make adjustments to the CV. Take notes and use that information to make adjustments to your decoder.
There are Loksound manuals available for download as well.
Thanks—will give it a shot!
Make sure you read the bulletin for the sound file you are working with. I have noticed that after the list of functions I usually see “Make sure that index CV31 is set to 16 and index CV32 is set to 1 before changing a volume CV.” I often forget to do these settings and then wonder why the sound volume is not altered permanently.
If you’re going to continue to use ESU decoders, it is probably worth the cost to buy and install a LokProgrammer. It can make adjustments to sounds and lights a lot easier, plus you can buy blank decoders and install the exact sound file you want.
