maybe this is the wrong section to post my message (in this case i am sorry). I was wondering if some expert among you could help me in doing a price evaluation for these models i have.I dont know how much they worth.
They are all fleischmann. A guy in an italian site told me the Shell coach is very rare and expensive (created by a guy called Anelhare or smg like this). Is it true? How much does it cost? I’ll put the pics for you. Tnx.
If these are HO, as I suspect, you will find much more expertise on the Model Railroader Magazine forum than here, where the interest is mainly O- and S-scale toy trains.
However, if you want to sell them on Ebay, you don’t need to know how much to ask. Just put them up and let the auction determine the price.
In any case, you can understand that asking on the forum how much trains are worth for the purpose of selling them may be seen as an attempt to get around the policy against using the forum to sell things and may get you in trouble with the administration.
H0 means Half Zero a scale of 1:87. Since the sixties the predominant railroad scale in Europe and to a lesser extent in Northern America.
Fleischmann is one of the major H0 producers, besides Märklin, here in Europe. Fleischmann started with H0 in 1955. The items that you show look like mass produced hobby trains to me. H0 wagons and locomotives in this condition will be sold by the crate in Europe. Basically you are lucky to get 10 USD for one wagon. Very special collectioner items, mint in original boxes are a different story. But that does not seem the case, when I look at your pictures. As far as I can judge it, the Shell tank car is no exception to that, it appear to be from the late fifties / early sixties. But see for yourself. Swallow the German language and go to www.ebay.de / modellbau / spur H0 / Fleischmann and go look for yourself. This site usually has about a thousand of these items and you can have a look for yourself. This is the European situation and perhaps it is different in the Northern America’s.
