When did MR start charging $25 to mention an upcomming show in thier magazine ? We have a small area show that barely breaks even. I know he cant afford ot pay to announce the show, he only charges $12 per table & $3.00 to get in. Since it’s only 3 times a year it’s easy to forget. No advertising… no people… no show. So much for promoting "The World’s Greatest Hobby " Notice how the show announcements have shrunk to 1/2 page.

It still seems they could add 2 pages to the magazine to promote shows that promote the hobby that would probably mean more subscribers. It’s ironic that they publish stories about how people are promoting the hobby when wont…except for a price.
AFAIK Railroad Model Craftsman still has free ads for train shows.
Yes, but RMC doesn’t have the circulation that MR has. In our area you have to buy it at a hobby shop or subscribe. MR is available at most book stores & news stores. Also RMC is not promoting “The World’s Greatest Hobby” as MR says it does.

MR would rather publish full page, self promoting ads about their own products then worry about a small town train show. I’ve suggested they make their own ads smaller that way they can still publi***he show dates but they didn’t like that idea. I was told that they removed that valuable part of the magazine because they wanted to add more useful articles. Its funny though that it was removed but now its back, for a price. There was a huge thread about this awhile ago and almost everybody wanted the listings back but MR didn’t listen.
It’s all about the $$$$$

Gordon, I doubt very much that MR pays anything for this forum. Just look at all the ads that are on it. Those are the people that are REALLY paying for the forum.
I don’t see any ads, my popup blocker eliminates them all!
