Before we get started, I was extremely tired and bored when I made the Subject name.
So here we go…
1.) Do any of you have a model railway based in or around Chicago? (Preferably N-Scale)
2.) Any of you have a Chessie System Layout? (N-Scale)
3.) Do you use airbrushes to paint and age you locomotives?
4.) Do any companies have models of the following:
SD 60 I, SD 70 I, F40-PHM (the metra loco)
And these ones in Chessie System Paint:
GP-30, SD-50
5.) Did Chessie run intermodal business?
6.) What CSX railways, (Chessie, B&O, C&O, Western Maryland, Seaboard Air Line, Seaboard Coast Line, Seaboard System, L&N, Family Lines) ran together.
For example…
Ive seen trains with a CSX SD-whatever with a Seaboard System U-Boat.
Which railways have you seen on a single consist?
As you can probobly tell I am planning to model CSX shortly after it was formed.
Question no.4…Katousa,Atlas and Bachmann have complete listings of the model/road scheme combinations they have to offer…online.Sorry, can’t help you for the other questions but suggest you post them on the “prototype info” forum
#3 Yes I use an air brush. More for hte weathing side. I use india ink and rubbing alcohol to get it grimmy and dirty. I come back with a little rust-dust gently sprayed on with clear to seal the whole thing they look great. I have yet to try and paint the schemes of a modren engine however.
LaGrange #1. I am just in the planning stages of my layout but mine will be generally based on the Chicago area, however it will be HO, but I might be of limited help. Check out these sites for N scale though: http://www.midwestnpioneer.org/ http://www.palatinearea.info/nwn-trak/
They are both great groups for info and Destination Hobbies in Libertyville is probably worth a visit too. Very helpful place! Their website is: http://www.destinationtrains.com/
#2. No, sorry[:(]
#3 I hope to, but as I said I’m mostly in the planning stages until the basement is totally cleaned and finished.
#4 Ditto on what Jacktal said with the addition of Walthers makes an F40(even in metra scheme) for HO but I’m unsure about N.
#5 and #6 Don’t know, but I’d ask these on the Trains Mag Forum too.
Was the subject line a loose reference to the new BNL album?[?]
It is not uncommon to see bought-out roads on a consist
together, especially when used by the new class 1 road that
purchased them. CSX corp. runs many fallen flags.
Thanks Guys. My Internet service was down for a week. TechGuy; Everything for Everyone and Nothing for Ourselves is a lyric from Rage Against the Machine. the song is called Zapatas Blood. Who is BNL?
