Ex-US diesels in Brazil

Most brazilian railroads are receiving ex_US diesel locomotives nowadays. I´d like to post some pics of them here, but I don´t have any available web space. In fact, I don´t know if this forum accepts photos on it. If somebody wants to receive the photos by email and post them here later, I can send them. There are some very interesting locomotives running here nowadays, like old B36-7changed to BB36-7 (BB+BB trucks) and SD45 with D-D trucks.

there have been pictures in other threads, so I don’t see any obstacle to posting pics of brazilian engines.

I have no website either, sory.

This website is pretty good and should accept your pictures:

Incidentally, the DDM45’s (export SD45’s with D-D trucks) were built specifically for service in Brazil and are not rebuilds.

Unihead has been watching a lot of these rascals head south through the Port of Houston…

Enjoyed the great photos, but maybe some more explanation to some of those “odd” looking diesels, maker? type? location? anything informative would help, clearly some of them were not North American engines.

Look at the last group, the photo of ex CSX 734…take a hard look at the track gauge!

I’m not a fan of safety cabs, at least aesthetically speaking. Perhaps I need to move to Brazil and start shooting some ex-U.S. standard cabs with some monstrous wheelbases! And I thought SD40’s had big porches!

wow they even had a EX Amtrak also a couple of EX CR’s and a EX CSX and it looked like a BNSF SD40-2 in the last group also with a old SP

Pedro,

What have CVRD done to their G12s? The cab is moved forward and the dynamic brakes moved back! They look like G22s!

How long have South African Railways (Spoornet) been running their own locomotives in Brazil? In their own colours too!

And I’ve only checked the first link!

Great work there!

Peter

If you look at the blue bar above the pictures, you will notice that the one on the Austin & Texas Centrail have “Home > Roster and Detail Photos > Locomotives > Regionals and Shortlines” on it while the rest “Home > Freight Trains > International” on them. I think that locomotive is in the United States.
