EXCELLENT SERVICE from Walthers :-)

I have a firm belief that in this world of moans and complaints I should be just as ready to give praise when it’s due.

So…

I just placed an internet order with Walthers, double checked it, checked back that everything was in stock… sent it off… and realised that the main item I’d ordered was N not H0… DOH! [banghead]

So I phoned them up… and they are sorting it! No hassle, no problems.

So they will be getting more of my business.

It’s great to be able to report really good service [^][bow]

I have made several parts orders from Walthers…While not the fastest my orders was complete and I was notified when the order was being process and shipped-I am happy with their service.[:D] [tup]

So as soon as they figure out the Proto-2000 parts issues we should be in business! I am still waiting for response on three different issues (since October of last year?).

I ordered about a dozen or so items from the walthers website a couple of years ago, including 2 DCC HO scale locomotives and some HO kits, including some of their own. As I’m in England the order was fulfilled through one of their affiliated model shops here, within about two weeks. The only delay was due to one of the locos being out of stock, and then when the store here received it they forgot to send it to me until I chased them up!

I made an order with them last week, arrived in 4 days, but one of the items was incorrect. Called them the next business day, they told me I could keep the wrong car and that they would send me the correct one priority mail. Its a good thing they have great service to overcome the rapid increases in prices troughout the industry.

Ditto on the Proto-2000 parts. I recently purhased a P2K SW8 and the traction tires cause it to stall when crossing WS #5 DCC turnouts. End solution was to remove the traction tires. But, now I am waiting on an all metal set of wheels.

They took care of me on the P2K cracked-axle problems with GP-9’s. It took a while while Walthers “digested” Life-Like, but once the parts came in they shipped them out promptly.

Sounds like they have alot of problems most of these compliments are for them fixing their mistakes like products that dont work and shipping the wrong cars.

Notifiying of shipping with ups and fedex shipping software now is automatic and the norm today.

The P2K axle problems were inherited from Life-Like, which Walthers acquired last year. I e-mailed them and told them I had an engine, which I had bought from M.B. Klein, which had a cracked axle, plus another that seemed OK at the time. Once the parts came in, they shipped me two complete sets, free of charge. In my case, at least, they were standing behind a product they didn’t even make, and doing it with a smile.
