According to local paper a safety expert commented that if the building would have had sprinklers they would have to have been operating at least 30 minutes prior to the incident to aid.
So building was not required to have a sprinkler system. His other comment was that in cases such as this it is best to stand back to prevent other injuries and let the material burn itself out.
