Hey guys, I’ve been making some progress on my extension room layout. The room is 10’ x 10’. There will be a single track hole through the wall for access to the new room.

Here’s the plan. I want to thank Rich (richhotrain) for helping me with the design.

Staging is at the bottom. 4 track Passenger shed and station on the right, and an Oil Refinery on the left.

Turnout installed in the main layout room. Hole through the wall cut out. (There is a 2% grade coming down into the new room.)

A section of the foam was installed and painted.

Oil Refinery backdrop was installed. It was mounted on 1/8" mdf panel. The backdrop is vinyl with an adhesive backing. The quality is amazing.

I’ll keep updating this thread as I make more progress.

Great job, it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun to operate. Keep the updates coming.

Got some updates on the layout progress.

Finished all the foam and painting. And got the rest of the backdrops up.

Staging is to the right on this photo, so no backdrop needed here.

Time to start laying some track now…
