Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any information on the recent (within the week) increase of traffic on the CSX Dothan Subdivision? I’ve so far seen a couple of extra mixed manifests, along with three additional autorack trains (normally only get 1 northbound, typically Q282 or Q226, according to the information I have). I’ve done some research to see what, if anything, is happening on the other subs to justify the extra traffic, but I’ve found nothing so far. Any and all help would be helpful…
I would suspect there is a curfew on the Lineville Sub between Manchester, GA and Parkwood, AL which is the prefered route between Birmingham and Waycross. The Bow line is the secondary alternate route between those two locations.
I figured that too, but I haven’t found anything stating as such. Who knows, maybe they’re just relieving some traffic from Lineville by running it down the Bow Line since its less-used (not that I’m complaining from a rail-fanning perspective).
