F3 Battery replacement circuit

Several years ago, there was an article in the TCC magazine about using a simple power resistor and a rectifier to replace the D cell battery required to power the horns of postwar Lionel diesels. Does anyone have a copy of this circuit to pass on? It should be inexpensive to do this simple battery replacement circuit.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi! Do you mean CTT, or Classic Toy Trains? I’ve never heard of TCC. There’s a company in Rocky Point, NY called Burns Manufacturing. They do make an electronic horn relay for $15. Check their web site at: www.burnmanu.com

I’ll keep my eyes open as I flip though my older CTT magazines. You might even try e-mailing them… maybe someone there can help.

I believe that’s TCQ the TCA magazine I was referring to. The Lionel horn battery eliminator circuit was clearly mapped out in an article about 7-10 years ago. I remember that the author referred to one of the resistors as a fuze it type wahtever that means. I may have saved the magazine it but it is burried somewhere. As for Burns, I’ll check it out. Thanks much.
