f3 my attempt at posting a pic did it work?

Just the links appear, but if you click on them, the photos do appear.

Tim,

Those photos are from the OP, not me.

Rich

Are all three links of the same picture, that is what I am seeing.

Whether you use Shutterfly or Photobucket there is 3 to 4 processing steps to prepare the picture for the transfer to the forum. A little cumbersome but with a little practice its no big deal.

Posting pictures from Shutterfly to this forum takes two clicks. It is covered in a previous post called “posting pictures.” You still have to get the pics to Shutterfly but getting them on this forum is really easy. Bruce Baker

This is how I move a picture from Shutterfly to this Forum, if there is an shorter process I am not aware of it

  1. Click on picture in your shutterfly album which will enlarge it.

  2. Right click select properties

  3. Right click on URL block, select all command

  4. select copy command then OK

Move to CTT Forum

click on the tree

Paste the copied link in the block

I feel like I"m in the TWILIGHT ZONE! Apparently I’m not alone with having trouble posting pics. I just tried your method, when I got to the tree part I got a insert/edit window , no paste option. Also no select copy command after I “select all command”. I also tried the other suggestion’s in the forum but I don’t get the same responses as suggested. I also contacted Shutterfly; there reply was that I could not post on a forum! Not to be annoying here but I"ll keep trying. I"ll get out of the ZONE!!! sooner or later. Thank’s for all the help GUY’S!

It’s like timboy says; I quit posting photos here because it is too difficult!!! For me I think trying to train a cat to open a door would be easier than posting photos on here!!

I tried in the past but to; go to double or split screen then cut, copy and paste is like speaking Greek! The peolpe here in charge of this forum should make it easier to post photos.

Lee F.

When you open the “edit/insert window” right click on the “image URL” line this will open a dropdown window, then left click on “paste”. If you have copied your photo’s address from the properties section in Shutterfly it should come up. Also when you copy the addy from the properties dialog be sure to get all of it, the line for it in Shutterfly is kind of short and it may run 3 lines long.

Works for me, and if this old dog can use it most anybody can. Granted it ain’t the easiest or most efficient but “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. [2c]

Hey Lee F. I didn’t have any trouble training my cat to open the door; easy as one two three. RIGHT! I"m no CP geek but I followed step by step the procedures suggested on this forum subject and they didn’t work. Talked with a Shutterfly rep and was told you cannot post a pic in a forum direct from them? Even talked them through the instructions I was given here. Even referenced their own method on their site. Closed that account; wondering if it’s worth my time/effort to try another host site.Apparently it can be done but gosh dar n it all, I"m with you let’s make it easier ! Got trains to PLAY with. John

OK, Timboy,

Here’s what you do:

Go to Photobucket and open the album you want to get the picture FROM;

Slide your cursor onto the picture;

See FOUR “link options” below the picture;

Swipe over “IMG Code”, so that it’s highlighted;

Right click your mouse, click “Copy”;

Come back to this Forum, compose your message;

Put the cursor where you want the picture to go;

Hold down ‘CTRL’ and hit ‘V’.

You’re done!

That’s exactly how I do it too.

Here is what worked for me: Go to http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/p/173181/1900530.aspx#1900530 and check the instructions by dougdagrump. They are quick and easy. Bruce Baker
