CSX has F40’s? here is the link

If I remember correctly, they use them to pull the business train. CSXEngineer98 might know.

Nice photo, I will be using as background photo for a while on my computer.

I believe they’re leased from Amtrak.

They’ve actually been around a few years.

The picture shows them in the 3 tone scheme. About three years ago they were repainted into the current “C & O Wannabe” dark blue paint scheme.

CSX has two F40PH-2’s, #'s 9992 & 9993, which they acquired in August 1999. They are exAmtrak 390 & 395 respectively - http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos/html/FE7A.html

What did CSXT do with its F7s?

yes csx has 2 of them…and they are for the jacksonville brass when they want to take a sight seeing trip… “take a tour of their railroad”…train…in which they all sit around the loung car kicking back some cold ones and looking out the window…saying to eachother…“what yard is that? and do we realy want to spend our bonuse money to fix it…or should we just close it”…

Just way a recent photo of the yard at Larry’s Truck and Electric in Ohio and they had at least two Amtrak F40 units there. Wonder what is going to happen to them, scrap or rebuild…believe Larry’s does both. Any ideas?

It seems that most of the units that get sent to Larry’s get the “blue tip wrench”
(scrapping torch) treatment[:(].
