F7A and F9A

How much horsepower did the F7A and F9A have?
And does any class 1 railroad still use them?

N.D.

F7: 1500 horsepower, same as a GP7.
F9: 1750 horsepower, same as a GP9.

No straight F units are in use on a Class 1 line; not sure if Metro North is using any of its (upgraded) FL9s yet.

Canadian Pacific has an FP7u, an FP9 and an F9B for use on its Royal Canadian Pacific excursion train. (FPn was a slightly longer passenger version.)
VIA has an FP9u. (one active, a few more stored)

Metro North still uses the FL-9

KCS has 4 F9s, 3 As and a B.

Thanks! Forgot about KCS (they don’t serve Chicago, therefore they must not be a Class I railroad
