My first post here so hopefully this works correctly. I am trying to detail a couple F7’s like the photo below. I am having some issues finding detail parts. The biggest thing is the roof railing that is shown here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Those “railings” are part of the Pennsylvania Railroad’s Train-Phone induction communications system. Cal Scale, now part of Bowser at one time sold brass stanchions for these.
I’ve installed some on Alco FA locos but my F7 and FP7s already came with them installed.
Hello and hank you for the info yes I actually discovered they are antennas right after I hit send. Searched for hours for “railings” which brought up nothing then found this thing called an antenna and realized wait thats what I am looking for so I stumbled upon it actually. It really helps when you are searching for the right thing. I do appreciate the source and actually that photo helps show the detail I was looking for of the end so thanks a lot.
I May have further questions as I go down this path of perfecting my PRR F7’s
I lay the engine on its side with the numberboard parallel to the floor and dab a little canopy cement over the DRY decal which gives the appearance of glass.
Then do the other one. The canopy cement can be a little runny so you want to keep it level as it sets.
