My layout will be open Nov 18th

Everyone is invited !

Terry,

Thanks for the info…I might have to make the drive over to see your layout in November. My unfinished (barely started) layout will be on the tour for the Austin Model Railroad Jamboree at the end of this month…it ought to prove to be very interesting!

It really is an excellent event. The San Jacinto club has been sponsoring this for years, and it seems to get bigger each year. It now runs for what, about 8 weekends? They have everything from Z scale layouts to live steam represented. And I see that their geographical area coverage has now spread to include much more than just Houston proper. I think they go as far south as Galveston, west to Katy, north past Conroe, and east to the Beaumont area.

That online guide that they have is very well done too. Good dierctions to each layout, and a brief description of each.

I’m hoping to be in the area in late November and will try to get in to see at least a couple of layouts.

Regards

Ed

It’s a great event. I just wish they could get their ducks in a row for layouts that want to join the tour. I gave last year’s coordinator (I’m not gonna mention names) plenty of time to include my layout on the tour for this year, directions to my home, and a key map number. Guess what? I wasn’t included on the tour this year. Maybe the new home layout tour coordinator will fit me in for next year. The positive side is that I’ll get more scenicking down by next year if and when I can get on the list.

For this year, I have a partner in crime that lives near me so I’ll just hang out at his home layout to throw turnouts and run a few trains while he shows the visitors the layout during his open house layout days…chuck

It would be great if you could make it Don I’m still trying to get Tom to come over and help run trains

The Austin group really puts on a good show and i hate to have to miss it this year but i need the time to work on my layout

only thing wrong with Austin is I-35 on the weekends is a parking lot !

Terry,

You said a mouthful! I do everything possible to avoid I-35 at all times! Tom Bryant_MR lives close by and we help each other on our layouts…maybe we need to arrange a layout visit for some of us Texas boys…

Don Z.

That would be great Don

If you and Tom want to come down the first weekend in Nov and Catch the Great American Train Show You could come over afterwards and we could run trains !

Thats Sad Chuck because you have a great layout

I can’t tell you what happened

I know the big complaint last year was not enough hard copies of the tour were

available for hand outs at the area hobby stores

Maybe the new guy will do better next year
