after being around for I cant believe 10 yr in the hobby, I noticed something with us modelers… You ask what is that? And I will tell ya.
In the middle of Sept I noitced more and more of us get a need twinkle in the eye, like alright fall is here and the railroad can be worked on. Now to me it just means I dont have to justify why I’m in the basement and not outside sometimes.
Also I noitced theres a lot of chatter aout trains shows yeah its great they are starting back up and everything and I can wait for them either, even tho I dont like to go to them on my own since I am just the designer, carpenter, electrician, and plumber for the layout (your thinking plumbing huh? you will see when I start the second layer soon I hope). My father is the financer (Suppose to be father son project but guess who gets his hands dirty and I do buy things frm time to time for it). So I make him tag a long to buy things, even tho lately not much sparks my interest (could it be I have boughten what I needed and need nothing? yeaaah right theres always something somewhere just got to find it).
There is one Show I cant wait for and its in West Allis, WI and everyone knows or will know what it is, the name is Trainfest Nove 11-12 I believe this year. I cant wait for this every year. Basically its the start to my holiday season.
So I have a smile on my face and I seem to see more as the time fall sets in and its great to see Modelers smiling once again.
