just saw these in my walthers catalog and did a google search and found a couple videos on youtube. these things are amazing. worth the money for sure. i’m hoping to see one of these in action at the oklahoma city, ok train show this weekend.
It’s a really neat system. But after so many years I wonder why Faller hasn’t offered their system with models of “American” cars, buses, and trucks. Especially since a number of American models are manufactured by Europeon companies. Hopefully this will change in the near future.
IMHO, a model railroad with automotive vehicles actually moving adds an even greater depth to the hobby, just as onboard sound has in the HO and N scales.[:D]
jjryan, Would you please explain the ‘‘Faller Car System’’ to me? I guess I have never heard of it, from the other post it seems like something cool. When are you going to be at the OKC train show? Maybe we can meet somewhere and say Hi and have a soda or a cup of coffee, Tha weather is supposed to turn bad here Thursday, I hope it doesn,t interfeer with travel. Hope to see you there. Mike
Check out this link. It may be helpful.

It’s an impressive (but expensive) system. Nothing that layaway in hobby shops that offer it can’t cure though.
Try this link: http://www.midlandred.org.uk/faller.shtml
or this one:

The caption at the bottom of the photo explains it a bit
Not sure what time I’ll be showing up yet. I’m taking my fiance and her daughter who’s 5 with me as well. I haven’t done model railroading since we started dating and want to show them what it’s like so in the summer they know what they are going to have in the house.
Is the OKC train show a good one?
Here’s a couple videos of them in action i found

based off that second link’s description on the page they actually yield to each other too i think? call me crazy but that’s insane!
Modelmaker,
Your links are even better, thanks!
Again, I still wonder why Faller isn’t pursuing making American vehicles for their system. IMHO, they would sell. I can imagine how many clubs with large HO layouts would enjoy having automobile traffic running in towns while trains go on about their business delivering freight and passengers. Would be major attention getters during “Open House” days. Plus it would give other members more duties. Instead of running trains, other members can monitor the road traffic.
Perhaps if enough modelers in the U.S and Canada wrote to Faller’s management, they might actually consider it.
I’m in shock still. I’m hoping to see some in action at the Oklahoma City Train Show this weekend.
I think their cool, but I anaylyzed what I want to do for modeling and animated roadways are out.
The train’s the thing. I have the trolleybus system, and I really want a more trublu manually steerable with rear poles and so on and not fake overhead wires.
or make a trollybus system that uses the steerable wire.
