Im in the process of turning a Toy Story SD40-2 into a Norfolk Southern, Ive found quite a bit of the detail parts at my local hobby shop, my problem is that I want the really nice detailed fans for the top of the hood, This model has 5 on it, they all seem the same diameter, but the 2 forward ones are just a tiny bit shorter. I want the 3 peice ones, I think they call them photoetched, but everywhere I look, I always find them backordered. Anybody got any they would part with? or know of a online supplier that have them in stock? i know a couple brands " Smokey Mountain miniatures" and “BLMA”, I really like the BLMA ones, but on their website they seem to only list N scale and I need HO Scale,
try caboose hobbies. www.caboosehobbies.com. if don’t find what you need online call them. they have a huge selection of detail parts for almost any locomotive. They will probably have the parts you need and correct for your road.
Hope this helps
What do you mean by toy store? Is it good enough quality to justify spending all that time and money on?
Not Toy Store, TOY STORY, The movie, you know, Buzz Lightyear, to infinity and beyond … hehehe
Is that from one of the Bachmann sets? Some of their newer shells actually have some pretty good detail. Never heard of a Toy Story train.
Its a MEHANO made in Slovenia, I purchased 2 trains sets back in 1996 at a local Drugstore on Xmas day, they were marked regular $79.99, i gave $20.00 a set, one I opened and my nephews played with it for awhile, the other is still up in the closet. I recently found the old set that they played with in storage,so i set it up and ran it. It actually runs good, its 8 wheel drive, it has a small can motor, it needs a little more weight, but I hooked up alot of cars to it and it pull good. The boys were a little rough with it, so some of the handrail was broken, so I robbed some parts from another old loco that doesnt run to make repairs and it snowballed from there, I added grab rails, sunshades on the cab, lift rings, radiator grilles. I dont have a indoor place to get me a layout started yet, some Im having fun detailing this Loco
Thanks for the link, Ive been on that site for hours now looking around.it was a great help [:P]
