Would it be pausable that a company in a urban setting would get Potash? I was thinking maybe they could be a company that packages fertilizer and sells it as commercial lawn care brands. Otherwise I have CN cylindrical hoppers on urban layout with nowhere to go.
Yes, entirely plausible. Go ahead, and use those hoppers guilt-free.
Why not? Its completely plausible.
I am an engineer at a chemical manufacturing plant. We make metal pretreatment chemicals (i.e. rustproofing). We are located about 1 mile north of the Detroit border and are surrounded by auto plants (GM powertrain and Chrysler truck). A Conrail industrial district serves this area allthough our spur was torn out a few years ago. Never the less, it is an industrial, urban area.
We use Caustic potash in our process although not enough to justify rail car loads. All of ours arrives in bulk in trucks and unloaded into silos. However, potash cars can and do serve industrial areas.
TravyG,I just thought of this…You could transload it from rail car to truck as well.
excellant, thanks alot guys
