Joe:
Wouldn’t be surprised if they go to Connersville, IN and are set out at the owner’s shop (Connersville & Newcastle/CNUR/ old Indiana Hi-Rail Shops)
For those of us not in the know, what is a maw unit?
Former “Maumee and Western” railroad locomotives. They were recently bought by…G&W… i believe.
Pioneer RailCorp got em.
The units are still in the yard.crew reported brake problems with the engines.Dispatcher told them to leave them sit.Time to go to bed.

Thanks. I take it these units are something unique?
I’d have to look, but I think it was Pioneer Railcorp that bought the old MAW trackage.
First-generation diesels, Norris, not particularly distinctive in themselves. But the new company brought in some of its own power, and is upgrading trackage (and if ever a railroad needed to have its trackage upgraded, it was the MAW! Been there, seen that).
In the case of MAW, it might be cheaper and easier to remove all the old track and start fresh from the subgrade.
Sale involved the rails, ties, and both pieces of ballast?
It’s possible there was only one. Some kid reportedly threw the other one through a window…[:P]
