Fast Tracks survey

Hi All…

We are considering expanding our line of products to include additional
track tools and supplies and are looking for input and direction from the
model railroading community. To that end we have posted a couple of surveys
on our website that folks are invited to complete. These surveys are very
short with just a few questions, and will be extremely helpful in ensuring
that we are building the products that you want, need and can afford.

You will find the surveys here: http://www.handlaidtrack.com/surveys.php

The thing that would make laying track much easier would be a spiker tool like Kadee used to make. There was nothing even remotely like this question in your surveys. In addition there used to be a company that made a tool called a “tracksettia” or something like that. It was a timplate to put between the rails to set the radius. I want a whole set of those.

Tracksettas do still exist - we’re talking about the metal “plates” that sit between the rails to ensure a constant radius when laying flextrack right? They’re readily available over here and are distributed by Peco, so there’s a fair chance they can be had over there too. Hope this is of some help!

An ad is still an ad regardless of the disguise…

I agree with Texas Zepher: need a Spiker similar to a staple gun (one of the newer gun designs where the handle pivots at the rear). This tool could also have a built in gauge so you carefully lay one rail then quickly do the other.

Hmmm, they dried up out of all the hobby stores I know of and every one I ask said they could no longer get them… There is another brand that we can get but, well, it just wasn’t as good in comparison (too short, no holes in center, too hard to read what radius it was, etc.). That was several years ago so I’ll try again, maybe Peco brought them out.
