I was looking through some photographs I recently took and notice that I photographed a reefer (ARMN 764044) at a citrus packing house in Exeter, CA. on a Monday and then photographed it again at a frozen food plant in Lindsay, CA. on the Friday of the same week.
I know that the Express Lane Service reduced transit time, but it could not have reduced it that much. I wonder if the citrus packing house rejected it for some reason, the problem was corrected, and it then ended up at the frozen food plant.
It might have needed a cleaning when it arrived at the first place, so they sent it back, and either it got cleaned and sent to spot number 2, or it wasn’t cleaned and was sent to spot number 2.
Another possibilty is that something happened with the refrigeration unit between the time it was inspected and the time it arrived at the packing house. I have seen many spare refrigeration units in the yard up in Fresno, so they probably could have repaired or replaced it in that short amount of time.
Also, there may have been some other type of mechanical defect. Of course unless someone from the packing house saw it, knew what it was, and knew that would delay the car once loaded, they may have requested another car. However, I doubt that there would be anyone at the packing house who would know that. Also, would there be a long delay for getting a replacement car or for repairing the defect?
