I am getting ready to build an extension to my layout, and I’m wondering if I should change the way I fasten my track down.
In the past I’ve used cork roadbed and fastened the flex-track down with white glue. I solder all the joints. This has worked OK, but I’m just wondering if there is a better way. [?]

I’m happy with white glue. I have some 18 year old N TRAK modules and have not had a problem. The track and cork has stayed where I put it
A very thin coat of Liquid Nails for Foam Board, which dries clear, is good for gluing track down, too. I use that on HO scale modular layout sections to glue down the track and have had good results with it. Bricks are used as weights on the track to hold it in place until the glue has set.
Aleene’s Tacky Glue for WS foambed to sub and track to foambed. I use canned goods (food) for weights overnight.
Liquid Nails is a great product, the only downside is that it is pernament. WIth TacKy Glue and White glue, a bit of water and the track is recoverable.
I see the downside to white glue as being that it dries rigid. Tacky Glue (and LN) stay a bit flexible.
Not Liquid Nails - Big mistake.
Use plain old ordinary cheap CAULK. Check out an ariticle by Chuck Hitchcock a few months ago in MR. Very quick and simple. And it’s easy to take back up if you change your mind later and want to move the track. Cheapest caulk you can find. I’m using it to attach almost 2700 feet of track and wouldn’t use anything else.
