My wishlist for Fastrack sections
If they made the double crossover I wonder what it would retail for? $300 $400 or more? How about flexible fastrack but that would take a miracle. I really really think they could change the shape of the rail into a nearly prototypical shaped tubular “T” rail using the existing plastic roadbed. More realistic looking and more surface area for wheels and traction tires to grip on. How about a computer controlled yard hump with retarters to slow the faster cars down. Possibly have it hookup to your computer to controll it using tiny RFID tags on the side of each car, just like the real thing…
How about some new pieces like “not a total rip-off fitter pieces”?
John,
Great wish, I hope it becomes reality and with a great price.
The Lionel people can produce it, or hire an outside firm, with a reasonable price.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Oh, Yeah!
Great Art Work, John,

Have you considered this truss bridge made by Lionel?
I agree about the viaduct sections - the FasTrack Trestle just looks way too unrealistic when actually connected to the track. One of the reasons I’m building a viaduct for my floor layout.
I would like to see the the double grade crossing! Mark
DJ, yes, Im aware of the postwar and modern era truss bridges. I was thinking a 20" Fastrack version with rails built in. With all the MTA stuff train companies are churning out, viaduct sections make sense. Plus, like you say, look better than the current timber trestle system.
The inspiration for the double crossover and viaduct sections comes from Kato Unitrack. Like Fastrack, it’s a great track system. My N scale Unitrack layout has a double crossover and it is a focal point. It’s a blast watching trains blast through it.
A single Kato switch is around $25 bucks and a double crossover around $60. Seeing Fastrack switches are around $60, it makes me wonder if a Fastrack double crossover could be done for just under $200.
Train O, thanks. It’s 3D AutoCAD with Frank53’s head pasted all over. LOL.
I’ve lost my head over this project . . . [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D]
Here’s a simple one that’ll sell great: make a large rectangular “parking lot” with a SuperStreets in and out paralell to the FasTrack in and out. Add two slots, one on either side of the railroad track for Gantry Crane wheels.
You could drive a train into the lot, off-load scrap into a SuperStreets scrap truck and drive it away, or if you prefer, mount a Mi-Jack on top, and off-load Containers onto SuperStreet tractor-trailer trucks.

While we are talking about Fast Track, we were told at the Legacy User’s Meeting that the new switches will have a data port on them to feed serial data to an accessory or controller. This was done so you don’t have to home run the data line all the way back to the command base.
3railguy … I agree that would be well needed … or at least fastrack without the roadbed for bridges . Some with just ties and track or with wood instead of stone … that’s what’s holding my bridges up … I won’t put stone on a bridge darn it … I hate using those adapters and another brand of track . Have ruined a couple pieces trying to carve/dremel the ballast off and replacing with wood … [banghead] …
