What is your favorite passenger train. Mine is the Southern Pacific shasta Daylight.

Definitely the “Canadian”. I like the stainless steel cars, especially the last car with the boat end and observation dome.
Modelling is a different story, alas my layout does not have the room to host such a consist. Also I primarily model Canadian National. My layout passenger trains are typically a baggage or combine with a regular coach. This consist was typical of small-town branchlines in my area. The baggage car was used for mail and express delivery.
I do however have a model of the observation/lounge car of the Canadian for display purposes. Does anyone else collect models associated with their favourite passenger trains?
Is the Daylight the one with the orange colour scheme? The orange boards on the steam locomotives were very striking.

Mine would be the CNW 400s.
Mine, the CZ & Broadway, having rode both.
But I remember that electric liner and it’s last fan voyage out of downtown chgo operating on the el tracks.

The “Broadway Limited” of course, as I was employed in the PRR’s Traffic Department from 1962 to 1968 (plus Penn Central’s after that). We used to joke after the merger that the 20th Century Limited and the “Broadway Limited” were to be combined and run as “The Twenty-cent Broad”.[:p][:p][:p]
The Nebraska Zephyr “Trainset of the Godesses”. Especially on a day that the weather is perfect.
The C&O’s George Washington…I also like C&O’s FFV and the Sportsman.
Yesterday: The Rocky Mountain Rocket (Rock Island), followed by the Quad Cities Rocket (also RI). Can’t beat the ROCKET paint scheme, IMHO!
Today: The California Zephyr (AMTRAK) Just rode it two weeks ago - great train!

Since I visit my soldier son in DC at least twice a year, I am very fond of Amtrak but for sheer luxury it/s got to be the Orient Express. My kids, knowing my love for trains, all chipped in and for my 60th birthday gave me a trip on it and flying home from Instanbul. It was six days of pampering that will never leave my mind.
I would have to say that I have many fond memories of:

B. NP’s North Coast Limited[8D]

The Empire Builder, and also the 400. Another favorite will be the WICT passenger train that I’m kitbashing at this time. i’m undecided as to what to name that, though. [:)]
