When I voted, the poll indicated 55% voted other. What does that tell us??
I think it would have been better if you prefaced the question with “active” RR to get that result, and then a second POLL to list former RR’s that we may like because we are modeling them. I had to choose OTHER because I like the former B&M and B&A RR’s.
If this were ACTIVE RR’s only, I would have chosen CSX, as this is the RR that runs through our town on the former B&A main line. ( Boston to Albany, NY )

Well, I voted other, but then I wouldn’t expect that you would have thought to put the Finger Lakes Railroad on the list. That is my favorite modern day road mostly because it runs right through town.
If there were separate polls,you would have to put Southern Pacific in the active railroads column,because I am still in denial about that particular “merger”.[:(!]

I voted other, because I really can’t decide what my favorite railroad is, and none of my favorites were on the list. I like the Chicago, Rock island, and Pacific; The Missouri-Kansas-Texas; The St. louis-San Fransisco; Farmrail, The Arkansas-Oklahoma; The Witchita, Tillman, and Jackson: and the AT&L. the last four are all modern Oklahoma short lines.
