Favorite regional railroad

Mine is the Reading & Northern.

My #1 favorite is CNW. My #2 is CR. My #3 is DMIRR.

I loved SP’s Cotton Belt. But since it is no more, my favorite is the Mid-Michigan RR. DM&IR is cool, too.

Apart from CN, Nova Scotia has two Regional railways. The Cape Breton & Central Nova Scotia (CBNS), Frmerly CN and The Windsor and Hantsport, Formerly the Dominion Atlantic Railway (DAR) Which was CP.

Mine is the Wisconsin and Southern (WSOR) of course.[:D]

Guilford. Its the only freight trains I see

Farmrail is my favorite.

I voted for the Reading and Northern.
I’ve been to their HQ in Port Clinton, PA a couple of times. Very good operation.
Nice looking buildings too, the station/offices, the loco shop.
I hope they run the RDG T-1 again someday!

Ohio Central. Any road that’s got a steam program is OK by me!

The Maryland Midland has been a favorite for years.[:)] Runs right near the house, on former Western Maryland tracks. Busy little operation,[:D] just wi***hey would bring the dinner trains back![:(]

Arkansas & Missouri for me!! Nice folks, great paint scheme (always clean too!), great scenery, passenger
trains, and nothing but Alcos!!

Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee

Its the only railroad left were you can go around they’re property without getting arrested. They had a nice open house in the fall for there 20th. It’s amazing that a 7 mile tourist railroad (the Blue Mountain & Reading) turned into a 300 mile plus regional railroad in just 20 years.

After all of these years of mega mergers and economic up/down swings, Florida East Coast is still prospering. They take excellent care of their mainline and some of the yards are among the cleanest!

As you get closer to the Miami area, however, it stands to reason that security is likely going to be tighter and more “alert”.

I don’t understand why these polls keep popping up with short lists of “favorite railroads” that are so short that they couldn’t possible included all the favorites of those who read this forum. For me, I don’t know that they are necessarily my “favorite,” but I model two regional lines, The Wichita Tillman & Jackson (north central Texas, south central Oklahoma) and the Fort Worth & Western (north central and central Texas). They are both strong regional railroads and make very interesting interchange traffic on my BNSF Wichita Falls sub. layout.

I’ve always really enjoyed the Walt Disney World Railroad! [:D]

FEC.

Point Comfort & Northern

All 13.5 miles of it. [:)]

There is a limit of 15 lines to put the questions in. I used all 15.
