Favorite Scale

This question might be a frequently asked one, but I’m going to ask it again! Thanks for voting…

Asking it is okay, but you should at least include all of the popular scales - Z, N, HO, S, O, and G. I would also suggest some of the minority scales like TT, OO, and #1.

Enjoy

And HOj for the few of us who model it (outside of Japan, that is. Inside Japan is another story entirely!) Scale 1:80, model gauge 16.5mm (HO standard), prototype gauge, 1067mm (3 feet 6 inches.)

I voted ho
its been the best fit for me and my rental space

How 'bout 1:1? I like them because they tend to be prototypical and are very life-like. (No, wait…Life-like was bought out by Walthers…sorry. [:I] ) What I meant to say is that I like 1:1 because they tend to be prototypical…and are very Walthers. [:)]

Tom

Actually, I did 1:1 scale for awhile. The size wasnt so much an issue as I hada big back yard and the neighboor didnt use his either, but the freakin boxes the cars came in were huge! And the kits… dont get me started…

[:o)]

HO for me, but if I had more $$ and ROOM I would go larger…"O"scale.

Why didn’t you just ask how many model in HO, N & Z scales? I model in O scale, hi-rail, just for the record.

I model HO… i ono i’ve just always loved the size. I think i would honestly have a hard time doing any other scale, althougth some lrge scale stuff would be fun to play around with someday. I can pritty much garentee that my favorite scale will be HO.

HO Scale is mine.
Allan.

Z rules for me.

Sorry for all the termiol, I guess I might have included a few more of the popular scales, but I didn’t even notice I put this poll on this site until today… Thanks for voting though (HO FOR ME!)

Oh yea and P.S- The ones I didn’t include are including under the “OTHER” category. Thanks for noticing. Good luck!

I model HO, but have a few N things which I will eventually put in the background. I used to belong to the Pocahontas Chapter of the NRHS in Bluefield, WV-VA. In our annual show (2nd week end in Nov.) we had other clubs or individuals come in with their various scales. The variety of scales and the fantastic number of dealers made it a great show. Since I moved away in 2001, Ive only been able to get back once. I sure would like to visit it again. I’m currently a member of the Tennessee Central Rail Road Museum in Nashville. I joined to get in the HO club there, but somehow ended up in the 1:1 scale. My basement garage which is now a 2, no car garage has my HO layout. My car sits in the rain. HO is my scale of choice, but like them all.

S scale all the way!!!

"G"arden scale, first last and always! The exact definition of “G” scale is very much up to debate. It can range anywhere from 1/16 to 1/32 with the more popular scale choice being somewhere around 1/20.5. However, the caveat to all this is that most of us in "G"arden scale don’t really give a rip about exact scale proportion since we are dealing with senic elements that are always 1:1. I have a compromise, I threw away my scale ruler and used my eyeball to tell if something “looks proportional” when in context of the complete railroad.

More accurately it is “G” guage, not “G” scale.

Ummm… How could not know you posted a poll ??? Are you taking Ambien and posting polls in your sleep ?

Although I’ve been collecting and operating postwar Lionel for 25 years, I picked N scale because that is where I do my scale modeling. I chose N scale because large factories and multi engine lash-ups fit my space constraints.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Oh, I mean HO. Was just snoozzzzzzzing through this poll. [:D]

N and HO scale
