Favorite Trains Magazine Issue or Article

I was doing inventory of my Trains Magazines I’ve been getting since September 1997. I’d have to say my favorite issue was April 1999 and the Kansas City Union Station cover story. I’ve been in there many times since they reopend and it’s fantasic what they’ve done to it. Perhaps Trains will do a follow up to their article and print some interior photos? (perhaps when they do trackside KC?)

Other favorite issues was June 2000 and it’s cover story of the KC Argentine Yard and September 2001 the Alco 100th Anniversiary issue.

Anyone else have a favorite issue or article?

The cincinnati trackguide issue was good.along with the bellevue map blueprint.

Back in the 1970’s there was a monthly editorial written by John Knieling-Professional Iconaclast. He always attacked union workers and railroads that didn’t run unit trains. My favorite issue of Trains was the one in which Penn Central and UTLX officials wrote and said Mr Kneiling didn’t know about real life railroading.

Being from Buffalo, the 2 part article on Central Terminal that was done in 1985 is was one I dug out again last year to refresh my memory before taking a tour there last July.
