FDT mini-products in bad need of quality control

Ordered, received two FDT inspection cars (hi-railers). These mini vehicles are cute, but all they are good for is to look at. Got them out of the box, on the track, dialed up default adr 3, nothing - nada - not even a budge, on throttle up to 99. Both are DCC, that’s not the problem.

Meanwhile, a random selection of my dcc locos run just fine on same track, sound ok, etc. A slight bit rough - cleaned the track and the stock engines are super fine - no problems.

With the track cleaned, the FDTmobiles sometimes start, a jerk here and there, no smooth motion whatever. One does not run at all.

Yes, tomorrow I will probably clean the wheels - but I don’t think these little china-made goodies will last the week in this abode.

That answers my questions about maybe buying a Trackmobile. Sure glad I didn’t fall for that one too.

Oh - did I mention that I sent them a question about the Trackmobile several weeks ago, they have not bothered to respond. I should have seen that as a warning not to do business with them.

Live and learn.
