when are they coming in to service? Are we having a new color scheme?
Well if they don’t repaint them, they will look like a bunch of bees…[:-^]
Guys,
FEC 720, 721 and 722 are going to the Indiana & Ohio Railway for three 1995 NYSW SD70’s numbers 4050, 4052 and
4054. FEC 717, 718 and 719 are currently working the Alabama Gulf & Coast Railway. 721 is ready or just about ready to go north, don’t know about
the 720 or 722 yet, 720 was just working an FEC train a few days
ago.
As far as new paint goes, don’t hold your breath.

Ted:
Thanks for the info![dinner]
You’re welcome. [;)]
The FEC’s (Dupont’s) president made a legendary quote, (“Confusion to the enemy”)/ " We have to report that our perfect dividend record of 60+years was ruined when we paid our first dividend." From the ST Augustine railway 18th century style to SD70’s (EMD’s only) has always been the original vision of old man Flagler and todays Duponts. May Henry’s spirt guide the FEC.
Would this be about the ex-UP SD40-2’s?
Wheren’t these a short term lease to fill the gap while waiting for new EMD SD70’s?? They were only lettered and never painted??
No. FEC began purchased their 700’s (SD40-2) over eight years ago. The 100’s (SD70M-2) arrived Jan., '07 and ARE leased.
Yes. They were relettered since many of them had fresh paint when they were bought, but since then, none that I’m aware of have been repainted.
brain head space error. i was 180 degrees out. hard to remember 8 years ago and i model the fec. i grew up in cocoa fl and the old cocoa downtown street running crossed my uncles property. i model the transition from red and yellow to blue. still some fantasy steam as back up. Stay happy. RMR
The NYSW SD70Ms are staying on the I&O. NYSW 4052 is heading to the FEC to have major engine work done. Then it will return to the I&O.
