FEC tresspasser

Even the Brits hear abut our idiots. Woman crosses the FEC FLL drawbridge and gets caugh when it rises after train goes by.

Look at the picures did she ever get spread eagle,

[(-D][(-D][(-D]

Dumb A**'s are found everywhere but seldom photographed. Now all we need to make the story complete is for her to hire some bottom feeder attorney to file a law suit.

This might be filed under The " You Can Train The Ignorant, But Stupid is Forever." Folder… [D)]

Not only is this woman stupid in Florida, she’s now internationally stupid. []

At first it seemed that the way it was being reported was that somehow the “Breast Cancer Race” was run across the Railroad bridge. The at the end it mentioned that she had just participated in the race that was held earlier in the day.( whence the “Pink Running Togs”.).

Makes you wonder if the cops wrote her a ticket after the Fire Dept got her down? After all I am sure it cost the local political jurisdiction something to run the F.D. out to respond. You can bet the cops were there as well. And what kind of chaos was caused on the Railroad?

Moron hillbilly got what she deserved.

Question: Why not just call the FEC to lower the bridge again?

River traffic has priority over rail.

Even in an emergency type situation?

I’m glad she wasn’t wearing a skirt.

Why not call the FEC? Probably because no one thought of it!

Or possibly because someone thought that any further motion of the bridge might shake her loose. And then what?

They don’t even lower lift bridges if someone’s on it when it starts to raise (Which seems to happen along the Welland Canal just about every year). Too much liability so it’s left to emergency responders to get the trespasser off.

Heh. A friend, some years back, controlled a railroad swing bridge over a relatively busy river. One day he saw a trespasser walking down the tracks, headed straight for the bridge. My friend unlocked the locks and unwedged the wedges but otherwise left the bridge in place - until the trespasser got to the center of the swing span. Then, naturally, my friend operated the bridge.

It’s amazing how an hour or two on a bridge will deter someone from trespassing again.

She can’t be a “hillbilly”. There aren’t any hills in Florida.

As Paul Harvey used to report: “The Rest of the Story”

This morning on the Local News ABC-TV) there was a report from Florida with the balance of the story of the woman on the RR Bridge. Apparently, there was some back and forth between the FT. Laudersdale Authorities, and the Railroad…Allegdly, the Railroad asked for permission to lower the Bridge and get the woman off…The F.D. said it was easier to get to her with a 24ft ladder…Which was the method by which the woman was brought down…

.A later conversation with the woman’s immediate(?) family, indicated she was ‘legally blind’ ( to what extent thet means, was left unsaid)… So apparently, the signage provided by the railroad was then negated , because she was ‘blind’. Also noted at one point in the story, there are audible warning devices that precede the raising of the bridge. .

Another point that was brought out in the story this morning was that the bridge is co

The lady obviously never watched this video made on the railroad she was walking on.

The bridge operator is in Tallahassee? Seriously doubt that is accurate - FEC is on the east coast (duh!), Tallahassee is due west of Jacksonville by 165 miles, where the Panhandle meets the peninsula. Ft. Lauderdale is (guessing) maybe 200 miles south of Jax on the east coast (I think), WAAY far away from Tally.

Remote Control & radios

I do not doubt that it could be done, I just cannot imagine WHY it would be done. FEC (AFAIK) does not have a prescence here, other than possibly a small office to deal with state gov’t.

A number of smaller carriers have been outsourcing their train dispatching function to 3rd party vendors. I believe the FEC may be doing this.

This women almost got herself a Darwin. Hey, there’s always next time.
