The Downtown Spur / Port Lead, former mainline of the FEC, had been on life support up until recently where it was confirmed that the line would be rebuilt to suit intermodal service. That mission is almost complete. CSX execs were given a tour of the area and dinner at Los Ranchos in Bayside, which is conveniently right next to the throat of the line. Soon enough the lift bridge will be repaired and the intermodal ramp in the port will finally be built.
I took a trip to the Downtown area since it is very close to where I live. The convenient time and place made this shot very opportune, and that I am delighted to present to you guys now.
