Feinberg named acting FRA administrator

What are Feinberg’s qualifications, other than being a long time bureaucrat?

From a Progressive Railroading article, “Prior to joining the USDOT, Feinberg was director of corporate and strategic communications for Facebook, where she managed Washington, D.C.-based outreach and communications, as well as the company’s political and crisis communications. She previously served as director of communications and business strategy for Bloomberg LP.”

Mr. Welch hits the nail right on the head.

I wouldn’t call her a longtime bureaucrat, but perhaps a “fixer” like a character out of ABC’s series “Scandal.” Just what DOT needs.

No railroad experience at all, huh? That’s just peachy. For this position one would expect the appointee would at least have a passing knowledge of railroad operations. I can only hope she’s a temporary seat-filler until a real administrator is hired. This has all the signs of getting this position as a favor or payoff.

And of course the real question is the necessity of the FRA?

She won’t know what she’s talking about, but she’ll say it well!
