Feisibility of adapting a self contained power truck to a IHC 4-4-0

Brilliant I think! I have a ancient IHC 4-4-0 that i’m converting to S standard guage, obviously reguaging is in order. I’m considering using a self contained power truck for the drivers in leiu of manfacturing new axles. Replacement drivers are a given (thank you Bowser), this would also correct the too short wheelbase and poor running. I’m adapt at quartering drivers, no prob there. Any ideas or suggestions from the community before I pursue this further is appreciated.

I don’t know about S standard gauge, it is really too small. I merged it with the HO Athearn/Roundhouse 4-4-0.

As an Sn3.5 1870’s steamer, if it is fitted with a straight stack and HO headlight it will do as a late 1880’s-early 1890’s HO steamer. Visit:

And re-gauging HO to S standard gauge doesn’t work really well, believe me.
