I was wondering if anyone knew when FGEX started painting their 40’ & 50’ insulated boxcars in the yellow scheme with the 2 parallel black stripes & lettering. I’ve seen the cars in a lot of videos behind steam but don’t know the starting date for the paint scheme.

‘The Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Air Line Historical Society’ are a great bunch of guys. Their website includes a forum where you can ask questions such as this, and an e-zine that is splendid. If I remember correctly the e-zine ran an article a year or so ago on Fruit Growers cars. Ask this question over there and I bet you get an answer…
