The recent SoCal rains (Thursday 17th/Friday 18th) washed out part of the out-of-service segment of the Fillmore & Western. The o/s line extends east from Fillmore to Piru and is intact, and is drawn on the brochures. But I don’t think they ever opened the route for tourist trains, and now any plans would be set back.
A photo in the LA Times showed a Ventura County firefighter leading another person over the washed out track.
I think they planed on using the extra track for film work, and eventually using it for tourist. But yeah, this will probably set everything back. I wonder how insurance works in that respect, or if the RoW can be covered at all.

On my way to work this morning, I heard on the traffic report on the radio that Highway 126 was closed. If I remember correctly, they said it was due to mud.
Santa Paula municiple airport runway is getting eaten away from the river?
Have there been any problems reported with the ROW and bridges betweeen Fillmore and Santa Paula?
