Final section of Oregon branch line reopened
Based on what I saw at the turn of the century, the opening of the line to Coquille should not double the amount of traffic that the line carries. The plywood plant seemed to be the only regular shipper on that branch, and it did not contribute a dozen cars per trip (the plant was served every other day). Therefore I would assume that the line anticipates increased traffic from other businesses as well.
Having lived in the area and seen what remains of the mills and any other producer tht might ship I agree with you Edmond. They would get more traffic with excursion rides through the stunning scenery.
