It is finally here. [:D] The K-Line Starlite Dinner and Billboard.
and the Billboard [8D]
The Billboard works great, just like advertised. I don’t have plans for the dinner at this time as I have the original Dinner with music and smoke [:D]
I am glad to say, after reading on other forums that some of there’s had a bad smell, mine does not.[:D][;)][:D]
Looks good Spank, does the new one have the music? The old one looks cool and I almost bought it but it had too big of a foot print and had no place for it. I think I still might get one of the old ones and keep rotating my buildings. Is that what you do?

I’m one of the ones who got a “stinky” one, but after a few days in the garage, it mellowed out nicely.
I am thinking about touching it up with some paint, but have not decided exactly what I want. It is nicely built (for the price), but a bit drab (IMO). What do you think?
I see that several have mentioned how drab these diners look. I don’t have one Yet, but, in this area of the country, we have a diner called “Gabby’s” that has similar exterior. They usually have either close neighbors to add to the scene, or they have hedges on the sides and several newspaper dispensers out front. Perhaps this will dress up your set.

Tom, I agree with dwiemer. You might even think of red and black trim on the exterior along with a slightly off color (lighter silver, like splatter paint) for the roof.
BTW, you picture posts really get might head turning with ideas. I really apprecite the time you take Tom to take pictures and your advice.[8D]
I would like to see Spaky Bird in a Santa or Elf’s cap this Christmas…I think that chicken of yours likes to ham it up form time to time.[:D]
Boy, when you guys start talking about the K-line diners, I get all excited ![:D]
When I first saw Toms’ diner, I knew I had to have one. I think they just go great with the trains & in towns, plus it opens up all those possibilities for a neat place to put the diecast cars, Like Tom has shown us in some of his previous pictures. Because of the diner I got, now I really enjoy getting a diecast car when I can ! I think the 1/43rd scale is best with the diner. I don’t have any scenery yet, but this diner area is about the best on my layout till I get more scenery in there. Here’ mine & I wonder if there are any other guys with the diners out there, sure would enjoy seeing theirs also !
I have a MTH Mel’s Diner that I really like. I just wish it played a different fifties song like “Rock Around the Clock” or something by Elvis. The song it plays is not something I readily recognize and I am fairly knowlegable about rock music.
