I need to attach N-Scale cork roadbed and need to attach a single side only. Given that it is very narrow, only about 1/2" wide, I am looking for suggestions for a “clean” way to attach the roadbed. I have used caulk before but am worried that I will not be able to contain it to the narrow width when I spread it. I thought about using diluted white glue with a brush, but when I searched the form, I found using white glue to attach cork to foam did not get rave reviews. Any suggestions?
Spread it on the cork, not the other surface. If you do it thin enough it should be contained.
Brilliant! Sometimes it is difficult to see the forest for the trees.
In addition to BATMAN’s suggestion. For years I have been using the cheap DAP ALEX white caulk with pretty good results then it dawned on me [I] to use caulk that was tinted in colors that were easier to hide.
So from now on I use their Dynaflex 230 in a Cedar Tan color. Any seepage before it sets can be brushed out with water and the color will usually blend in with your scenery. There are a few other colors that may fit your needs better.
This caulk has much better sticking and gap-filling qualities as well.
Good Luck, Ed
I’ve always used the clear. It comes out white but turns trnasparent as it dries - so in addition to not seeing any goofs, you cna also tell when it has set up for sure. However, I may consider the tan for roadbed and grey for track next time, that way the roadbed to base will match the scenery base, and track to roadbed will match the ballast color.

When I started using caulk, I also started using the colored type. I found that although it held OK, the clear caulk was stronger. So that is all that I use now.
RideOnRoad, is there any way that you can edit out the word ‘brilliant’ and substitute something like ‘nice’ ?
I just have grave reservations about associating the word ‘brilliant’ with Brent. [(-D]

I have reported the prior reply as abusive. It should now be just a matter of time until Statler and Waldorf are banned from this forum forever. [:-*] [xx(][xx(]
