Fire in the hole!

I was brushing my teeth last night and thinking about how long it would take for flaming to start on a certain new thread and came up with the new theme song for flaming threads. Maybe I should switch to toothpaste that does not have turpentine was its main ingredient.[:D]

With apologies to the late, great Johnny Cash.

Arguments are burning things
And they make fiery rings
Bound by much ire
I fell into a ring of fire

I fell into a burning thread of fire
I fell down, down, down
And the flames came higher
It burns, burns, burns
that thread of fire, that thread of fire

Discussions like this produce much heat
When opinions like ours meet
I answered you like a school child
And the fire went wild.

I fell into a burning thread of fire
I fell down, down, down
And the flames came higher
It burns, burns, burns
that thread of fire, that thread of fire

I like Cash’s version a little bit more.

Well I’m not much of a singer, not even doing it my head, but I certainly enjoyed it. Thanks for the laugh!

Jim

Thats pretty good.

Adrianspeeder

Thats pretty good.
Funny at least.

Eric, Did you come up with this before or after you took your meds? [swg]

Eric, that is really good;but possibly you could retain
a few words of the original: “Bound by wild desire”,
Oh well, what’s the difference between; IRE & Desire
for most of us.?!

I always thought Cash’s “Burning Ring of Fire” was really about eating bad Mexican Food [:0][}:)][:p][xx(][:D][8D]

I didn’t know we had musicians in our midst. [;)] Thanks for the chuckles! [:D]

And I first thought this thread had to do with flames shooting out of the stack of a GE locomotive. [:p] [:D] [:D] [:p]

On a rail-related forum perhaps it’s time that you provided revised lyrics for “I walk the line” too.

I prefer Johnny Cash’s ex son-in-law musically, but you’ll not know who that is…

If memory serves me correctly, Johnny’s ex son-in-law was Rodney
Crowell.

That would be interesting, but nobody has rhymed with “Toaster” YET !![:D][}:)]
Although some of the train crews have "Roasted(er) marshmollows during
certain times!

Roaster (emcee at a “roast”), boaster (braggart), coaster, poster…

ericsp
That was a great parody of a great song[8D].

Wow, I never heard “Johnny Cash’s” version, but it seems pretty good to say the least.

Interesting take on things, but I doubt you came up with the whole thing in the time it took to brush your teeth.

I have though about trying to do “A Railroad Named Soo”.

I hear the train a’ comin’
It’s rollin’ 'round the bend
And I ain’t seen the sunshine
Since I don’t know when…
I’m stuck in front of a computer…

Those were my thoughts exactly.[:D] I was expecting to see a picture of a flaming exhaust job that the engineer didn’t know he had.[:p]

Well, My GE’s catch on fire, It really annoys me,
Next time I think I’ll buy EMD.
They never catch on fire, and hardly ever fail,
And it’s a lot better than a TOASTER ON RAILS!
They’ll pull all my trains, from sea to sea,
Because there’s something that I like about that EMD.

Use the tune of “There’s Something Women Like About A PickUp Man.” [:p]

I maybe badly mistaken, but believe Jonny Cash’s version was the original version.
