First Amtrak trip what can i expect?

Hey i just found out im taking Amtrak from Union Station to Kalamazoo on Sat. What can i expect from amtraks services

Have a good time, Colin! You should have fairly decent timekeeping (unless tonight’s weather makes a mess of things in Indiana). After you leave the NS main line at Porter, you’ll be on Amtrak’s own track, which ought to be in good shape. And when you get to Niles, Michigan, you’ll have some 90-or-better running between there and Kalamazoo.

My nephew’s a fairly regular commuter to Ann Arbor from Chicago–prefers it to any other method of getting to suburban Detroit.
