That is awesome that Raleigh will build a new train station. I even love the idea that CSX will reopen the corridor from Raleigh to Petersburg (via Norlina).

I’ll be looking forward to that reopening mentioned by Dan. That will be good news for the NY-Florida trains. I long for the day to see the Champion restored between NY City and Tampa Bay, with a day time schedule south of Raleigh, and that would also give North Carolina that night train they want to run north of Raleigh to the NEC. Unfortunately, Amtrak’s chronic shortage of rolling stock is the prime problem in preventing restoration and expansion of long-distance services.

And where did you get that idea from?
As far as I know, CSX has NO plans to restore this line (old Seaboard Air Line).
