First Light at North Powder, Oregon

A south bound UP stack train, lead by the 7400, has just traversed Oregon’s Blue Mountains and is descending the grade from Telocaset. The train is entering the town of North Powder on its way to Nampa, Idaho where it will change crews and continue its transcontinental journey.

Very nice. Thanks for posting it. We need more photos posted on this forum.

A very fine photograph. The UP made some money on that train, for sure!

The train looks like it was put together by an artist. And don’t we have the most beautiful landscapes in our part of the world. A very nice, very warm picture. And with a blizzard coming, I am going to keep going back to it.

Great shot there![bow]

It would be nice to see more pix here-----[^]

Thank you all for your kind comments on the photo.

North Powder, Oregon has to be one of the nicest places to photograph trains on the La Grand Subdivision. The scenery on the east and west ends of the siding is completely different. This shot would be looking west at the west end of the siding. looking east at the east end of the siding provides one with a beautiful view of plains and a nice back drop of the mountains.

Thank you all again for you comments, I hope to post more photos for you all to view in the future.
