They should order some electric locomotives as well since the NEC is electrified.

I wish…but the only part of the MBTA commuter rail that is electrified is from South Station to Wickford RI which is on the NE corridor route. The rest is diesel, they are commuter rail lines that date back 100 plus years when it was all steam.
